If you’re looking for open mics in Syracuse to perform at or visit, we have good news. Syracuse has a thriving open mic scene with many musicians, comedians and poets who regulary perform.
Where to Find Them
Syracuse has open mics happening every week across the city:
Pink Rock Culture Co-op
Once a month hosted by Matty Experience, find a different type of crowd and support a startup venue who supports Syracuse musicians.
Funk 'N Waffles
Every Sunday night right in the heart of Downtown. Where the commited musicians and comedians perform. With great waffles and even better chicken.
Average Joe’s Beernasium
A close knit group of regulars with a great stage and lots of space.
Willow Rock
Intimate setting where acoustic performances shine. Coffee shop energy, neighborhood feel.
Guitar League
For the serious musicians. This group attracts an older crowd, but great for those who are commited to growing their recognition.
Shifty’s Bar
Not for the faint of heart. If you come with a screeching guitar, rock, or popular hits from the 60s-70s, this is your place.
Singers Karaoke Club
Stop in for karaoke or an open mic on Monday’s. Not the usual crowd in Syracuse, meet some new people.
Song and Dance
Check their instagram for latest updates.
First Time? Here’s What You Need to Know
You don’t need permission. Most open mics work on a sign-up sheet. Show up early, put your name down, and you’re in.
Bring your own instrument (if you play one). Most venues have a house mic and basic PA system, but guitars, keyboards, and anything else is on you.
Time limits are usually around 5-10 minutes. Half of the audience is usually other performers so expect everyone to be very supportive.
Not Performing? Come Anyway.
You don’t have to get on stage to be part of this. Open mics need audiences just as much as they need performers. Grab a drink, or some food, and discover Syracuse’s hidden gems.
Syracuse’s open mic community is small, so you can easily get to know the regular performers, the people setting up the show, and the bartenders serving drinks.
Why Open Mics?
Open mics show an awesome part of the Syracuse community with performances that will have you wanting to come back.
Roundpit’s aim is to help you put the phone down and get out. We track every open mic in Syracuse so you don’t have to hunt for them. Check our event calendar, find one that fits your schedule, and get out. 🍊
